The older PI models doesn't have JAVA installed.
You can get JAVA on those older models with:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-jdk.

Hi,
recently i switched from a windows based PC to a raspberry pi to run planeplotter and of course i want to use the pi to feed the data to live-military-mode-s too.
Unfortunatly it does not work for me. I have a Raspberry Pi 2 Version B, set up to run planeplotter which works smoothly. I followed the given instructions here but on startup or after booting and executing the logger myself i get these java errors shown in this picture:
http://fs5.directupload.net/images/151002/9sz9ryxs.jpg
I don't know, what i am missing. It doesn't matter if the planeplotter programs (modesmixer2 and ppup1090 as described here:
http://planeplotter.pbworks.com/w/page/ ... -S%20Beast ) are running or not.
Do these programs have to run for this to work like on windows where modeslogger needs planeplotter? Do i need to forward a certain port so the pi can communicate with the live-military-mode-s server?
I hope someone can help me with this issue!
Thanks
Dennis

Okay, think i got a step further.
i set modesmixer2 up to provide data on port 30003, which the modes.jar seems to require. This way i don't get the errors from above. Unfortunatly i get some other errors:
This causes the modes.jar to restart over and over again in a loop?!
