The hex codes and serials on the website are mostly based on the latest BSI file from the mode-s group. In the last few years I have been trying to get a conformation of the military hex codes via other sources: MAR, Scramble, various sites and various email groups.
If you click on a hex code a pop-up screen will appear. One of the fields you will see is the field Remarks. Behind you will see various descriptions:

If a serial is showed it is based on a sequence between some confirmed hex codes.
