Re: unable to install on Rpi

Did you fill variables.txt with your location-string (step 6 of the How to)?

Code: Select all

head /home/pi/modesfiltered/variables.txt

Re: unable to install on Rpi

There is no problem. You just mixed up the directories. The script is executed under /etc/init.d. You already checked the file rights. The rights under /home/modesfiltered don't matter. You could delete this copy.

Re: unable to install on Rpi

Hi Cali,
Please type:

Code: Select all

head /etc/init.d/modes.sh
The file access rights are correct.
How do you know that the script is not installed or executable?

Re: Pi disappears after 5 minutes feeding data

Hi Colin, thanks for reporting. I have no idea what the source of your problem is. Could you please provide additional info on your setup? java -version cat /etc/os-release free -m -t Are you using a Virtual Radar Server? You can use version 4 of Modesfiltered. Just have a look at the following post...

Re: Modesfiltered V12

Hi Roy,
I still have not seen the reported problems. But for all of you who wish to revert to V4 the modesfilteredV4.zip is online.
As a precaution I have reverted standard download to V12 which was the last version before a major change (3 ports).
Regards!

Re: Modesfiltered V12

Do you mean with W10 the problem (stop after 5 minutes) did not occur?
What do you mean with "causes a lot of traffic"? Modesfiltered, thanks to local filtering, produces very little traffic.
So in your setup the data is from a VRS?

Re: Modesfiltered V12

Hello faxstefa, thank you for the detailed reports. I got a similar report from skaw. At the moment I cannot reproduce the error. I have two RPis type 2 and 3 and a Win10 Desktop computer runnning V14 without problems. There are a lot of messages in first seconds, but 45000 in 5 minutes is not a pro...

Re: Modesfiltered V12

Hi skaw, as far as I discovered it’s the following problem: the station receives a lot of type 5 messages that contain no callsign before it receives a type 1 message that does contain the information. It can take a couple of seconds, a minute or longer or even never happen. So the question is how...

Skaw, thank you for the comparison. Clearly looks like a bug. I will compare the code.

Re: Modesfiltered V12

Hello skaw, changes are documented in README file. Release 12 fixed an out of bounds error in filter stage 2 that has been reported by andrewn. I did not observe changes in statistics for my station that are based on software version. But I will investigate on that topic. You should not compare the ...
